Martin's Obituary
Martin Thorpe Polerecky, 72 of South Haven died on January 31, 2014. He was born on February 17, 1941 to Stephen and Maxine (Gaylord) Polerecky in South Haven, MI. Martin worked as an engineer at James River Crown Vantage in Parchment, MI until his retirement in 2004. Martin served his country in the US Navy from 1959 to 1965. He loved fishing and working on small engines and cars. Martin attended the Kibbie Christian Reformed Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents – Stephen and Maxine (Gaylord) Polerecky, one brother - Dwayne Polerecky and one sister - Iris Polerecky.
Martin is survived by his wife - Halo Polerecky of South Haven, MI, His children - Stephen Polerecky of Lacota, MI, Jackie (Derek) Loikits of South Haven, MI. Step-children - Glendell (Marc) Doornhaag of Portage, MI, Allen Reynolds of Vicksburg, MI, Daniel (Jane) Reynolds of Kalamazoo, MI and Jill Cole of Portage. Three grandchildren - Victoria and Andrew Loikits and Nickolas Polerecky, numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 6 from 6-8 pm at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral will be on Friday, February 7 at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Ken Kruithoff officiating. Burial will take place at Stephenson Cemetery, Casco Township, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to Kibbie Christian Reformed Church.
