Catherine's Obituary
Catherine Perry was born November 10, 1931 in Hernada, Mississippi to Obe and Annie Mae (Echols) Franklin.
She was preceded in death by both parents; two sisters—Annie L. Madden and Mary Jean Moore; three brothers—O.C. Echols, Raymond Richmond, and Billy Franklin. She is also preceded by three children—Jenise, Cathy and Herman Perry.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 62 years, Lee Perry, Jr.; five daughters—Edith King, Ruby Smith, Carolyn (Martin) Jackson, Dorine Perry, and Dorice (Robert) Perry; One son—Jerry (Angie) Perry; two brothers—Obie Franklin and Earl Spencer; 24 grandchildren including two special grandchildren—Franklin and Kenyanna; 22 great grandchildren; her three oldest special nieces, Olia Nunley, Walls, Ms. Linda Echols of Memphis, TN, Bertha Awe of South Haven. A host of nieces and nephews and other relatives also survive. Catherine is also survived by her special friends Pauline Flournoy and Lenora Echols.
Catherine professed her hope in Christ at an early age. She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church where she was First Lady for 36 years.
She loved sewing, cooking, gardening and playing the guitar with her brother Raymond on the front porch. She was known for sewing anything and everything for anybody who needed her expertise.
Catherine touched everyone who knew her.
Wake will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in South Haven on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Funeral services will follow wake at 1:00 PM at the church.
