Karen Lee Chumley

Karen Lee Chumley, 66, of South Haven, Michigan passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at her home under hospice care. She was born January 27, 1948 to Wes and Virginia (Nelson) Hosier in South Haven. On June 18, 1965 she married her husband Glen Chumley at the First Methodist Church in South Haven. During her life, Karen worked at Everett Piano, S.E. Overton Factory, South Haven Coil and was most recently a cook at the South Haven Conference Center. She loved her hummingbirds and lawn gnomes. Karen enjoyed gardening and painting figurines.

Karen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Pat Covey.

She is survived by her children; Becky (Robert Bard) Gulliver of South Haven, MI, Beverly (Bill) Morgan of South Haven, MI, Gary (Tammy Payne) Chumley of South Haven, MI. Her granchildren; Eric Wessels, Brent Gulliver, Ashley Wessels, Brittany Gulliver, Billy Morgan, and Hunter Chumley. Her great grandchildren; Noah Donovan, Veronica Wessels, Kazie Davis, John Wessels and Hayden Connor. Her siblings; Karl (Rita) Hosier of Clear Lake, CA, Vern (Carol) Hosier of South Haven, MI, and Connie Dunnavent of Paw Paw, MI.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township, MI with Mr. William Odebrecht officiating. Karen will be laid to rest next to her husband at McDowell Cemetery. Memorials in Karen's name can be made to Heartland Hospice 8075 Creekside Drive, Portage, MI 49024.
