Ida's Obituary
Ida "Ivy" T. Ferguson, 94, formerly of South Haven, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Wellspring Lutheran Home in Livonia, MI. She was born January 26, 1920 to Marin and Mary (Cosma) Ivacic in Hoboken, NJ. Ivy married Neville (Fergie) Ferguson on October 25, 1947 in South Haven, Michigan. She worked as a registered nurse in various local places including Dr. Terwillager’s office, South Haven Community Hospital and Van Buren County Health Department. Ivy was an active member of the St. Basil Catholic Church for many years. She also enjoyed playing bridge.
Ivy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, who passed in 2001, her siblings - Michael, Dominic, James and John Ivacic, Anna Lilienthal, Camella Costello, and Ann Sagandorf.
She is survived by: her children – John Douglas Ferguson, and Theresa (Timothy) Cook of Farmington Hills, MI. five grandchildren - Travis, Cassandra and Hannah Cook, Charlotte and Christopher Ferguson, and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 10 - 11 A.M.at St. Basil Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 A.M. at St. Basil’s with Father Robert Flickinger officiating. Ivy will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven, MI. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Basil Catholic Church or Operation Smile at 3641 Faculty Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23453.
