Thomas's Obituary
Thomas Paul Helgevold, 76, of South Haven, MI, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Golden Orchards Assisted Living Facility in Fennville, MI. He was born July 16, 1938 in Eagle Grove, IA, to Howard and Anne (Salmonson) Helgevold. During his life, Thomas worked as a banker at the Old Kent bank and the Macatawa Bank in Grand Rapids. He retired from Macatawa in 2003. He also retired from the United States Coast Guard.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife - Patricia Helgevold. Children - Richard "Bud" (Karen) Helgevold of Wyoming, MI, Kelly Helgevold of Kentwood, MI, Jenny Helgevold of Grand Rapids, MI. Grandchildren - G.C., Devyn, Claudia, Adam, Ben and Lena. Sister - Ruth (Fred) Wells of Calabasas, CA. Sister in law - Debbie (Jerrell) Moore of South Haven, MI. Two nieces and two nephews. He is also survived by his good friend, Sam.
Memorial services will take place on January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 1934 52nd St. SE in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pastor Rodney Otto will be officiating. A luncheon will follow the services at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland or Golden Orchards of Fennville. The family would like to thank Hospice of Holland and Golden Orchards of Fennville for Tom's care.
