Linda's Obituary
Linda Rae Hammond, 67, of Grand Junction, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 6, 2015. Linda was born January 23, 1948 to James Pion and Betty (Foster) King in Otsego. She worked at the Michigan Fruit Canners Plant and also as a CNA at the Harbors Health Facility Nursing Home in Douglas, MI. She married Richard Hammond on February 18, 1972. Linda was very artistic and enjoyed painting, sewing, and playing her guitar. Above all, Linda loved the Lord and loved reading The Bible.
She is preceded in death by her father – James Pion; sisters – Annette Hammond and Winona Pion; brother – Lory King.
Linda is survived by her husband of 43 years – Richard Hammond of Grand Junction; children – Scott Burgoyne of Zeeland and Dodi Laws of Gobles; two grand children – Joplin and Sirius; mother – Betty King; brother – Butch King of South Haven; half sisters – Diane Clayton of Otsego and Jamie Ritter of White Cloud, MI.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Joruney Family Church, 313 Depot Street, Gobles, MI. Contributions may be made in Linda’s memory to Hospice at Home, 05055 Blue Star Hwy, South Haven, MI 49090.
