Jerilyn's Obituary
Jerilyn Vande Linde, 73, of South Haven, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Jerilyn had resided at Countryside Nursing Home in South Haven for the past 6 years. She had many friends there and enjoyed being President of the Resident’s Council for the last two years.
Jerilyn was born February 18, 1942 in Cherokee, Iowa to Lloyd and Jeanne (Anderson) Ruby. She grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and was raised by her mother and stepfather, Homer Hunt. Both Homer and Jeanne preceded Jerilyn in death in addition to her father, Lloyd and grandson, Andrew Vande Linde.
Jerilyn enjoyed her work in home decorating and furniture sales. She loved the Lord and her family. Her faith was contagious and her favorite phrase was, “Praise the Lord!” She loved musicals, ballet, and Bibles. Her favorite Christian speaker/author was Joyce Meyer. Jerilyn was a joy to be around, very giving and quick to make friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor and amazing insight. She will be dearly missed.
Jerilyn is survived by her children, Scott (Ana) Vande Linde of Eau Claire, WI and Kelly (Scott) Cedarquist of Bangor, MI. Grandchildren, Ryan Vande Linde of Eau Claire, WI and Chelsea Cedarquist of Bangor, MI and former spouse Gillis (Marty) Vande Linde of Portage, MI.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services celebrating Jerilyn’s life will follow visitation at 11:00 AM with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating at the funeral home. Jerilyn will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
