Gwendolyn's Obituary
Gwendolyn Lucille “Scott” McCurine, 94, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven. She was born February 24, 1921 to Charles and Grace (Gowens) Scott in Bangor. Gwen graduated from South Haven High School in 1939. Gwen moved to Chicago where she worked for the New York Life Insurance Company. Gwen then worked as school clerk for the Chicago Board of Education for 32 years until retiring in 1992. She was a hockey fan and enjoyed watching the Blackhawks.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by siblings – Arthur Scott and Hilda Richardson; nieces – Vadah King and Beatrice Fowler; nephews – Donald and Harold Brown.
Gwen is survived by the children – Dennis (Mary) McCurine of South Haven, Eleanor (Russell) Adams of Maryland, William (Dana) McCurine, Jr. of San Diego, California, and Carolyn (Jack) Harvey of Atlanta, Georgia; great nieces – Lori King and her sons, and Rhonda King. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Private family services have taken place.
