Albert W. Newell

Albert “Al” W. Newell, 60, of South Haven, passed away peacefully in his home he had shared with the love of his life, Julie Cole. Julie who passed away July 2, 2015 and was laid to rest on July7.

Al was born July 13, 1954 to Katherine (Wanecek) and Woodrow Newell. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his son Shawn T. Newell, a brother Mickey Newell and his soul mate Julie.

He is survived by two grandchildren, Joshua and Abigail Newell that live with their mother Kathryn in Bay City. He is also survived by his brother Daniel A. (Ann) Bermudez of South Haven, brother Bobby Newell and sister Joann Newell.

Al grew up in Covert, attending school there, and lived most of his life in the Covert/South Haven area. He left and lived for a short time with his brother Mickey in Wichita, Kansas and for another short time stayed with his father in the Florida Panhandle, but always returned “Home” to the area.

He was excellent with mechanics and worked throughout his life in the field. Approximately ten years ago he began working for Camp Agudah Midwest in South Haven where he found his spot and stayed; enjoying the people he worked with and the work he did.

Arrangements have been made following Al’s wishes. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date. Al will be missed by his many friends in the surrounding area and his extended family across the country will feel the loss.
