David James Pentecost, Sr.

David James Pentecost, Sr., 67, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at his home under Hospice care surrounded by his family. He was born April 4, 1948 to George and Ruth (Carnahan) Pentecost, Sr. in South Haven. David graduated from South Haven High School in 1967. He worked for his father at Citco Pentecost on Blue Star Highway at a very young age. He worked at Bohn Aluminum, the Palisades nuclear power plant for ten years and BEI for eleven years before retiring in 2006. David was a fan of NASCAR and cheered on Kyle Busch in the M&M car. David also enjoyed camping. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #697 and a Son of the American Legion. David loved his grandchildren more than life. He was an amazing mentor and loving “Pa” to them all.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by two brothers - George Pentecost, Jr. and Larry Pentecost.

David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years – Jacquin “Lenny” “MeMe” Pentecost; children – David (Angela) Pentecost Jr. of Central, Indiana, Heather (Nick) Rigozzi of South Haven and Timothy Pentecost of Corydon, Indiana; five grandchildren – Derek and Ryan Faux, Kyra Rigozzi, Kennedy Schnieder, and Tyler Pentecost; brother – Alan (Shelia) Pentecost of Ft. Myers, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will follow visitation at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Milan Bittenbender officiating. David will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
