Sylvia's Obituary
Sylvia E. Cargill, 68, of Grand Junction, passed away Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Medilodge Westwood in Kalamazoo. She was born January 24, 1947 to Claude and Pauline (Richley) Gilbert in Arcadia, Michigan. Following high school, Sylvia went on to graduate from nursing school and worked in hospitals overseas. She later worked as an air traffic controller and civil servant secretary at Glenview Naval Air Station in Illinois. Sylvia was known for her gift of photography and generous heart.
She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Cargill, who passed in 2011. Her father – Claude Gilbert and a sister – Dana Gilbert.
Sylvia is survived by her children – Michael (Debbie) of Toledo, Ohio, Dax of Chicago, and John of Coldwater, Michigan. Four grand sons, one great grand son and two great grand daughters. Her mother – Pauline Gilbert of Grand Junction and a brother and a sister.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the Burning Bush Ministries, 15886 M-140, South Haven, Michigan 49090. Pastor Mark Williams will officiate.
