Daniel Ray Casselman

Daniel Ray Casselman, 60, of South Haven, Michigan, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born August 16, 1955 to Walter and Alice (Soristo) Casselman in South Haven, Michigan. Daniel graduated from South Haven High School in 1973 and married Janet Cerny on October 22, 1977. He served his country in the Army National Guard between 1977 and 1982. Daniel worked for the City of South Haven in 1978, first in the Wastewater Treatment Plant and then as a lineman in the Electrical Department until his retirement in 2005. Daniel was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and camping.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Penny Abbott.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Casselman, his daughter - Kristyn Casselman of South Haven, Michigan, his sisters - Denise (Skip) Visuri of South Haven, Michigan and Donna (Rob) Roberts of Sevierville, Tennessee, and brother-in-law - Lonnie Abbott of South Haven, Michigan.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, also at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating. Daniel will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in South Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Moose Charities.
