Vicki's Obituary
Vicki DeLynn Kahne, 65, of South Haven passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at her home.
Vicki adored her sweetheart Brian; sons Eric and Robert; his wife Kathy; daughters Kerry and Kristine and grandchildren Robert and Allyson.
Vicki felt truly blessed to live in South Haven with her many cherished friends. She looked forward to golfing and dancing at her annual reunions with the South Haven Class of 1968! Vicki lived life to the fullest traveling the world to exotic locations where she loved to scuba dive. She enjoyed her time as a Van Buren County deputy sheriff with the Marine Patrol division.
Vicki was constantly amazed by the wonderment of nature; walking the beach and woods with her dogs and never missing a winter of Nordic skiing! Vicki spent her days in delight over the sounds and appearance of the lake and her evenings commenting on the mysterious shapes and glow of the moon. Vicki was a protector of the sand dunes and beach grass! Please remember her fondly as you notice the shade from the trees as well as the warmth and brightness of the sun. Think of her when you feel the sand on your bare feet...Few people knew this but Vicki was a mermaid!
Services will be held Friday November 6th in South Haven at the St. Basil Catholic Church at 12:30 with a celebration of her life following at the American Legion (129 Michigan Ave) at 2pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. (222 North Kalamazoo Mall Suite 100, Kalamazoo, MI 49007) or St Basil Catholic Church Restoration Fund (513 Monroe Blvd. South Haven MI 49090) or your favorite Humane Society.
