Betty's Obituary
Betty Sue Chapman age 69 of Pullman went home with Jesus Friday, December 18, 2015 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Betty was born August 3, 1946 in Coloma, Michigan to Jack and Ann (Pendergrass) Reed. Betty married Frank Chapman on October 30, 1970 in Allegan. Betty worked at the Lloyd J. Harris pie company and at Cornerstone Blueberry Farm. Betty was a member of the M-40 Church of God in Allegan and the Ray of Light Church of God in Pullman. Betty was famous for her cooking. Especially her biscuts and gravy, fudge and peanut brittle. Betty won over 12 blue ribbons for her fudge and peanut brittle at the Allegan County Fair. Although she did not have any children of her own, she acted as a mother to many.
Betty is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Dale Reed and a sister, Pauline Maynard.
She is survived by her husband, Frank Chapman. Five sisters – Mary (John) Hoots of Pullman, Nellie Jean (John) Loren of South Haven, Mary Lou (Danny) Pendergrass of Fennville, Jannie Logston of Fenville and Barbara (Mike) Williams of St. Louis, Missouri. Four brothers – William (Emme) Reed of Pullman, Paul (Shirley) Logston of Glenn, Earl (Debbie) Reed of Breedsville and David (Maxine) Logston of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home from 2:00 to 3:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM also at the funeral home with Pastors Charles Hoots and Bud Bradford officiating.
