Dale Henry Beckwith

Dale Henry Beckwith, 84, of Bangor, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Lakeland Regional Health Center in St. Joseph. He was born October 21, 1931 to Francis and Clara (Aulie) Beckwith in South Haven. Dale began work driving a Coca Cola truck before joining the Brick Layers Union #819. Dale was very proud to lay the brick work at Lake Michigan College and Lakeland Hospital before retiring from construction in 1992. Following his retirement, Dale would regularly attend auctions as well as spend time at the American Legion in Bangor playing cards. He was a member of Bangor Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death along with his parents by his brother Neil Beckwith and his sisters Elvira Howe and Gay Kiry.

Dale is survived by Judith Beckwith, his children – Dennis (Kathren) Beckwith of Benton Harbor, Ronald (Karen) Beckwith of Millburg, Michigan, Christine Beckwith of Benton Harbor, Kim (Bob) Collins of Allegan, Terry Beckwith of Wyoming, Todd (Keeya) Beckwith of Powhatan, Virginia, Tony Beckwith of Allegan, siblings – Jeanette (Larry) Landry and Mae Markstrom, both of South Haven, Phil (Eva) Beckwith of Salado, Texas, and Dean (Laura) Beckwith of Grand Junction, and longtime companion – Jeanette Livock. 16 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of South Haven with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Contributions may be made in Dale’s memory to the Bangor Baptist Church, PO Box 236, Bangor, Michigan 49013.
