Ronald Johnson, Sr.

Today, we celebrate the homegoing of our beloved “Daddy”

Ronald Johnson, Sr., 79, of South Haven, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Medical Center in Grand Rapids. He was born May 25, 1936 to Julius and Myrtle Johnson-Derrter in East Chicago, Indiana. He married Minnie L. Johnson on December 13, 1956 and enjoyed 53 years of marriage before her passing in August of 2009. He worked at Pullman Standard as a material handler in Hammond, Indiana. Ronald accepted Christ at an early age. He attended First Baptist Church in East Chicago, Indiana. Ronald loved his western movies.

He is preceded in death along with his parents, wife, twin brother Donald Johnson and children – Moana Kelly, Dorsey, Donald, Eugene Johnson and one grandson Kiante’ Ross.

Ronald is survived by his children – Angela (Alvin) Johnson of Hammond Indiana, Ronald (Emma) Johnson of East Chicago, Indiana, Roderick Johnson of East Chicago, Indiana, Cornelius Johnson of Manhattan, New York, Pearlie Johnson of Bronx, New York, Maurice (Sahara) Johnson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Carlos (Reba) Johnson of Gary, Indiana, Delmar (Jme’) Johnson of Holbrook, Arizona, Terrence (Latasha) Johnson of East Chicago, Indiana, Aquishea (Xavier) Johnson of East Chicago, Indiana, and Anton (LaKetra) Williams of East Chicago, Indiana and brother – Charles Johnson of Miami, Florida. Thirty Grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
