Arthur Frederick Haas

Arthur Frederick Haas, 77, of Grand Junction, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at the University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He was born May 5, 1939 to Arthur and Germaine (Touzin) Haas in New Britian, Connecticut. At the young age of five years old, Arthur was a model for Gerber Baby while living in Pennside, Pennsylvania. He and his family would later move to Franklin Park, Illinois where he was raised. Arthur graduated from Leyden Community High School in 1958. He moved to Michigan in 1971 after buying a lot and building his own home one board at a time. Arthur worked for Everett Piano, Bohn Aluminum, and Haworth in Allegan until his retirement in 2002. He was a long time collector of Lionel Trains. Arthur lived on Saddle Lake where he had competed in water sports and enjoyed boating in his younger years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons – William and Brian Radny.

Arthur is survived by his children – Kathleen (Dana) Kuenzli of Bloomingdale, Michigan, Roberta (Jimmie) Bond of Grand Junction, Michigan, Tanya Radny of Pullman, Joe Radny of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Jill (Jeff) Wittenburg of West Allis, Wisconsin, siblings – Clarence Haas of Madison, Ohio and Carolyn Bankson of Bartlett, Illinois. Fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2016 and from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2016. Arthur will be laid to rest in the West Addition at Grand Junction Cemetery. A luncheon will follow interment at the Columbia Township Hall, 53053 Co Rd 388, Grand Junction, MI 49056.
