William's Obituary

William Erland Labadie, 88, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Wings Home Hospice in Allegan. He was born September 12, 1928 to Erland Joseph and Ruby (Brown) Labadie in Ecorse, Michigan. William married Marlene Swonger on August 26, 1966 at the St. Pius Catholic Church in Southgate, Michigan. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Michigan and went on to become a pharmacist, later owning his own pharmacy at one time. Bill enjoyed working and worked feverishly until his eventual retirement at the age of 81. He was a member of the St. Basil Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by a granddaughter – Madelyn Stoner.

William is survived by his wife of fifty years – Marlene Labadie of South Haven, children – Brett (Maki) Labadie of Southgate, Michigan, Brad (Kellie) Labadie of Ann Arbor, and Nicole (Joel) Stoner of Rockford, Michigan, and five grandchildren – Ethan, Natalie, and Gavin Stoner, and Alexandria and Austin Caryl.

A memorial mass will be held Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the St. Basil Catholic Church in South Haven with Rev. Father Robert Flickinger officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in William’s memory to the St. Basil Catholic Church, 513 Monroe Boulevard, South Haven, Michigan 49090 or the Wings Home at 530 Linn Street, Allegan, Michigan 49010.
