Paul Gary Ignelzi

Paul Gary Ignelzi 72 of South Haven died Friday, December 9, 2016 at his home from lung cancer which he had fought since May.

Paul was born April 9, 1944 in South Haven.  Paul was a 1962 graduate of South Haven High School.  Paul served his country in the US Air Force.  Paul married Geraldine Brinks on November 19, 1962.  Paul was a former commander of the VFW Post and presently is the Post Quarter Master.  Paul worked for over 25 years for the South Haven Housing Commission.  He was a member of the Corvette Coventry Club.  He took many trips with them and cherished the time he spent with these special people.  Paul was involved in many Classic Car Shows where he received many trophies.  Paul enjoyed his trips to Florida, Nascar, Westerns and his fishing trips to Drumond Island. In all the organizations he was involved, if someone needed something done everyone knew Paul was the person to call.   

Paul is preceded in death by his father, Emil Ignelzi.

He is survived by his wife – Geraldine “Gerri” Ignelzi of South Haven. Two daughters – Lori Ignelzi and Donna (Tim) Corbett both of South Haven.  Three grandsons – Joshua, Buddy James and Hunter.  His mother – Bette Lithen of South Haven.  Brother – Tim (Linda) Ignelzi of Mt. Home, Arkansas.  Sister – Teresa Ignelzi of South Haven.  He also leaves behind an extended family of car enthusiast of whom he loved and enjoyed spending time with.   

A memorial luncheon will be held Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the VFW Post #667 in South Haven with military honors.
