Christine Holling

Christine Holling was born to the late Moses and Betty Armstrong, on March 25, 1934 in Senatobia, Mississippi. She moved to Covert, MI, where she attended Covert High School and met James Holling Jr.. On August 8, 1957 they were married. Christine committed 26 years of hard work to the South Haven Rubber Company, until retirement.

Christine devoted her life to God at a very young age, and his presence in her life was always evident. She was a  kind, gentle, and caring woman who loved to cook and feed anyone possible. A nurturing mother and a sweet and funny grandmother, Christine was adored by her family. In addition to their own, Mr. and Mrs. Holling were foster parents who loved, cared for, and helped raise more than 70 young people. Their heartfelt compassion for others was amazing!

In 2006 Christine moved to Detroit, MI and then to Louisville, KY in 2014. Everyone who met Ms. Holling loved her!

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Holling Jr., parents Mr. and Mrs. Armstrong, three sisters Mary Lou, Erna Mae, and Maggie Ester, and three brothers Beamie, Eugene, and Melvin.

Christine leaves to cherish her memories two sisters, Pattie Mae Newell and Estella Young, three sons; James (Dawne) Holling of New Mexico, Kevin (Rebecca) Holling Sr. of Oklahoma, and Rocky Holling of Michigan, two daughters; Blanche Renee’ (Tony) Foster of Kentucky, and Deborah Wilson of Louisiana. Respected as son Andre’ (Shanna) of California, grandchildren; LaTisha, LaQuita, Christopher (Shantel), Tameka (Otis II), James (Shondeen), Nakesha (Christopher), Nacoya, Ciara, Tony, Anthony, Tashawna, D’Anthony, Kevin Jr. (Marcy), Natasha, Kareesha, Tekiya, Karrisa, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
