Roberta Lee Erny

Roberta Lee Erny, 69, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her home in South Haven. She was born July 5, 1947 to Robert and Louella (Alswede) Hill in South Haven. Roberta graduated from the South Haven High School in 1965. She married Wayne Erny on January 18, 1969 and shared 20 years of marriage until his early passing in 1990. Roberta worked as a registered nurse at the South Haven Community Hospital for many years as well as the Martin Luther Memorial Home and the Lakeland Healthcare in St. Joseph before her retirement. She enjoyed all things Elvis including music and memorabilia. Roberta was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband – Wayne, and sister, Karen Hill.

Surviving is her son – Greg Erny of Grand Rapids.  Step children – Robert Erny of South Haven and Jeanne Seys of Hillsborough, North Carolina.  Grandson – Corey (Sarah) Erny and a great granddaughter – Grace Marie Erny.  Three sisters – Terry Bear of Honolulu, Hawaii, Kelly Hill of Connecticut, and Mary Hiatt of South Haven.  Two brothers – Bud Hill of Gainesville, Florida and Dave Johnston of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in South Haven.  Services will begin at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Stephen Daley officiating.  Roberta will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.  Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution could do so to the church.
