Georgia's Obituary

Mother Georgia Louise Cunningham, our beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin was born on July 16, 1934 to the union of the late James Franklin and Lillie Lou Cunningham in Egypt, Mississippi. Her family relocated to South Haven in 1946.

Mother Cunningham was easy to talk to while she generously shared pearls of wisdom. She possessed strong family values that were inspired by her deep love for Christ Jesus. She instilled the Cunningham family heritage of discipline and respect into her six sons. Mother Cunningham transitioned from this life on Friday, March 17, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, co-pastor James Franklin II and Mother Lillie Lou Cunningham; three brothers – James Franklin Cunningham III, Morris Cunningham, and Bishop Fred L. Cunningham; one son – Morris Sallis and granddaughter – Angela Young.


Mother Cunningham leaves to cherish her memories and carry her legacy, five devoted sons – Co-Pastor Telesma (Quilla), Co-Pastor Joseph (Epi) of South Haven, Keith (Carolyn) of Santa Fe Springs, California, William of South Haven, and Shelby (Temeeka) of Gary, Indian, one loving brother – Bishop Joe (AuGusta) Cunningham of South Haven, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She will also be missed by a host of family and friends.

Wake will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the Lily of the Valley Church in Covert. Funeral services will follow the wake at 11:00 AM with Bishops Joe Cunningham and Darryl Williams officiating. Mother Cunningham will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
