Jerry's Obituary
Jerry Allen Martin, 67, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Lakeland Regional Hospital in St. Joseph. He was born June 7, 1949 to Reed and Viola (Tesmer) Martin in Allegan, Michigan. Jerry married Diane Wheeler on February 17, 1968 at the Maple Grove Bible Church in South Haven. He worked for the South Haven Rubber Company for 26 years as well as other factories in and around South Haven before his retirement. He was a skillful mechanic who enjoyed tinkering in his garage and working on automobiles. He also loved to go to the lake.
He is preceded in death along with his parents by a brother – Claude Martin.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 49 years – Diane Martin of South Haven, children – Shelly (Lincoln) Clark of Dowagiac, Thomas (Amanda) Martin of Cassopolis, and Timothy (Tracy) Martin of Holland, brother – Reed Martin, Jr. of Pullman, and grandchildren – Emily, Landon, Gracie, Justin, Jacob, Kayla, and Jessica.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastors Mark Congrove and Dale Byers officiating.
