Addie's Obituary
Addie Clarke was born on November 1, 1945 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Henry Malone and Rosella Banks.
Addie was educated in the Van Buren County School System. After graduation, Addie met and married the late Henderson (Homer) Clarke. They were young, but loved each other deeply. They later joined Trinity Baptist Church under the pastoral care of the late Reverend Sanders. Addie was as a devoted choir member and served on many committees within the church.
Addie’s first job was at South Haven Coil where she labored each day as an Operator for several years. She later discovered her passion for cooking and began her new career as the Head Cook at Countryside Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in South Haven where she worked for over 20 years.
Addie truly enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She love to have fun….she enjoyed entertaining her friends, selling AVON, playing cards, and of course BINGO! She was the “life” of the party from her jokes and her laughter. Due to personal health concerns, she relocated to Cocoa, Florida to live with her daughter Angela. She remained there until her death.
Preceding Addie in death is her Father Henry Malone, Mother Rosella Banks, Husband Henderson (Homer) Clarke and Grandchild Niquitia L. Merritt.
Addie’s sunset was on May 17, 2017. Her memories will be cherished and always remembered by her sons, Pernell Clarke (Naomi) of Nashville, Tennessee, Victor Sylvester Clarke of Nashville, Tennessee and Ronald Joseph Clarke of Benton Harbor, Michigan her daughters, Debby Ann Merritt (Mike) of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Angela “Poo” Clarke (Mike) of Cocoa, Florida her grandchildren, Mequesha, Fred Jr., Samantha, Angela, Victor Jr., Victoria, Kendall, Chastity, Chaniya, Chaylin, Cameron, Daeja, Isaiah and 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and friends—Bobby King, Bobby Sanders, Joyce Ann Bailey, Mert Prewitt, Mildred Henry, and Brenda Foster.
