Gerald "Pat" Bigoness

Gerald “Pat” Bigoness, 82, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Ely Manor in Allegan. He was born May 3, 1935 to William and Lena (Peterson) Bigoness in South Haven. Pat honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for nine years, during which included the Korean Conflict. Pat wore many hats in life and worked for Stones Meat Packing, the Golden Brown Bakery, and Fleming Brothers Oil Company. He owned and operated Pat’s Pool Supply for thirty years from 1970 until 2000. He enjoyed deer hunting and playing cards. Pat married Elizabeth Kark on January 20, 1955 in South Haven and shared 62 years of marriage.

He is preceded in death by one son – William Bigoness, six brothers – Bill, Jack, Jimmie, Micky, Frank, and Charles, and sister – Mary Bigoness.

Pat is survived by his wife - Elizabeth Bigoness, children - Gary (Cheryl) Bigoness of Zeeland, Mary (Keith) Billings of Pearl, Michigan, and Lisa (Bob) Hasted of South Haven, grandchildren – Eric (Sue) Bigoness, Kelli (Dennis) Weeks, Keith (Amanda) Bigoness, Patrick (Jen) and Gary Billings, Katherine, Elizabeth, and William Hasted. Seven great grandchildren also survive.
 

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Pat will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township.
