Robert Loren Mueller

Robert L. “Bob” Mueller Sr. passed away peacefully on July 17, 2017 at the age or 96.

Bob accomplished so many things in his life.  He was a champion swimmer, did some bit acting in movies with the likes of Barbara Stanwyck and Humphrey Bogart, and actually dated Ann Baxter.  He was also a four-year decorated Marine Captain and pilot.

In 1946 Bob started his own crop dusting business in Breedsville, MI.  With already having the flying know how, he taught himself to crop dust by reading books!  He started out with one plane and in 1990 was voted the “Most outstanding Aerial Application Company in the U.S.”.

Bob was preceded in death by his son, Robert S. Mueller, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967.  Bob Sr. leaves behind three daughters, Cathy Moorhead of Kalamazoo, Chris Mueller of Richland, and Mary Mueller of Sedalia, Colorado.  He also has 6 granddaughters and 13 great-grandchildren.

Bob wasn’t much of a “home body”, but he LOVED growing his tomato plants every year, so in lieu of flowers, plant some tomatoes and think of him!

There will be a celebration of Bob’s life at the American Legion at a later date. Details to be published soon.
