Cherie's Obituary
Cherie Rae Ezell, 76, of Grand Junction, went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ on Friday, October 13, 2017 at South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. She was born November 12, 1940 to Jacob and Helen (Liefers) Dean in Shelby, Michigan. Cherie was a Social Worker and Health Care Worker. She received an award from President Jimmy Carter for the Able Program. Cherie enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing. She also was an artist and took pleasure in painting.
She was preceded in death by her first husband - L.V. Martin, son-in-law - Isidro Jaurez, sisters – Maren Johnson and Valda Carrier, brother – Larry Dean, and granddaughter – Kerisha Ezell.
Cherie is survived by her husband – Richard Ezell, Sr. of Kalamazoo, daughters – Vita (Michael) Pike, of Grand Junction, Gaelen (Leslie)Fields of Willets, California, and Cherise Jaurez of Ukiah, California, sons – Lauro (Charlene) Martin of Rothbury, Michigan, Dana Martin of Gobles, Michigan, Asaph (Patricia) Martin III of Welston, Michigan and Richard Ezell, Jr. of Mt. Shasta, California, sister – Lyndel (Bruce) Wisler of Alcove, Wyoming, 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Mick Schmid officiating. A graveside service will follow funeral services at 1:30 PM at the Benona Township Cemetery.
