Dale's Obituary

Dale Russell Larion 80, of South Haven died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the home of his daughter’s under hospice care.  Dale was born July 7, 1937 in Manistque, Michigan to Alfred and Ila (Laux) Larion. Dale served his country for three years in the US Army.  He was a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne.  Dale moved to South Haven in 1961.   Dale worked at Bohn Aluminum as a millwright for 33 years retiring in 1995.  On August 3, 1993 Dale married Christine Southwood.  Dale was a handy man and loved to be creative with wood and metal projects. Dale was also an exceptional painter and created several beautiful paintings.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Christine Larion who died Nov. 19, 2017.  By four brothers – Bobby, Pat, Melvin and Douglas Larion and a sister, Dolly Morrison.

 

Dale is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Ed) Carter of South Haven.  A son, Rick Larion of Washington.  Step children – Lori (Mark) Copeland of Stevensville and Rick (Kirsten) Southwood of Galien.  Seven grandchildren – Sam Carter; Carter Southwood and Dylan Southwood; Allen, Benji, Dale and Colin Larion. Two great grandchildren.  Two brothers – Al of Eugene, Oregon and Kenny Larion of South Haven.

 

Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven.  Funeral services will be Saturday, January 6, at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev.
