Martha's Obituary
Martha Elizabeth Robinson, 93, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Bronson in South Haven. She was born May 23, 1924 to Malcom and Zella (Frantz) Tait in South Haven. Marty graduated with the South Haven High School Class of 1942. She raised five children in South Haven. Moving to Kalamazoo in the 1980s, she worked many years at A&P and eventually retired from there. She married Alvin Robinson and resided in Kalamazoo operating a sewing shop called “Mrs. Robinson’s Sewwhat”. She later moved to Sebastian, Florida where she and Alvin resided during their retirement. Martha moved back to South Haven in 2016 and resided at the River Ridge Retirement Community. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing Euchre, and studying the Bible.
She is preceded in death along with her husband – Alvin Robinson, by two sons – Rich and Tom Bertorelli, sister – Susan Harry, and brother David Tait.
Martha is survived by her children – Beth (Jim) Horan, Malcolm (April) Bertorelli, Marc (Brenda) Bertorelli all of South Haven, daughter-in-law – Marilyn Bertorelli of South Haven, step-children – Keith (Sherri) Robinson, Doug (Beverly) Robinson, Terry (Ken) Flattley, and Robin (John) McCastle, siblings – Louise Twyman of Sparta, Michigan and Bruce (Mary) Tait of Eugene, Oregon, special nephew – Rick (Becky) Ramsey. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3:00 PM with Pastor Travis Wilson officiating. Martha will be laid to rest at the Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
