Clarence Burt Teske

Clarence Burt Teske, 87, of South Haven, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Hallmark Living Nursing Home in Benton Harbor. He was born April 21, 1930 to William and Esther (Reusch) Teske in South Haven. Clarence graduated with the South Haven High School Class of 1948. He later attended Benton Harbor Junior College and Western Michigan University to earn his Bachelor’s Degree. He married Kathryn Albright on June 14, 1953 at the St. Andrew Reformed Church in Allentown, Pennsylvania and shared 65 years of marriage. Clarence managed the A&P in Constantine and later was the Vice President of Citizens Bank before working for Sears for 19 years before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and played percussion in the Casco Band, The Streudle Meisters, and Joyful Noise. He was a member of the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings – Dorothy Teske, William Teske, Arleen Ditch, Marjorie Fagerlund, and Erma Teske.

Clarence is survived by his wife – Kathryn Teske of South Haven, children – Tim (Ann Marie) Teske of South Haven and Sharon Schmidt of Plainwell, and grandchildren – Angela (John), Anneliese and Adeline Janssen, Laura (Nate) Schubkegel, and Gretchen and Meredith Schmidt, Doug (Deja) and Rachel (Rick). Seven great grandchildren.  Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 27, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00 PM at the church with Pastors Travis Wilson, Raymond Bartels and Wayne Hoedt officiating. Clarence will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
