Robert Martin Murphy

Robert Martin Murphy, 67, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. He was born January 25, 1951 to Edward and Arbutus (Tincher) Murphy in Charlestown, West Virginia. Robert married Karen NaDell on September 12, 1992 in Lawrence, Michigan. He drove truck for Lappo Lumber, Overisel Lumber, and the Michigan Blueberry Growers Association for many years. He had an appreciation for classic cars, good music and especially enjoyed spending his time with family.

He is preceded in death by his father and siblings – Edward Murphy, Jr., Jessie Murphy, and Thelma Cowgill.

Robert is survived by his wife of 25 years – Karen Murphy, mother – Arbutus Pauline Murphy, siblings – Della (Wilber) Mock of East Dublin, Georgia and Naomi (Francis) Pike of Wittsprings, Arkansas, children – Kathy Murphy of Fennville, Karen (Dan) Beal of Grand Junction, Robert Murphy, Jr. of Fennville, Timothy (Rorik) Murphy of Watervliet, Garry (Angela) Hattey of Saugatuck, Shawn (Kim) Hattey of Holland, Paul (Sarah) Conant of Spring Arbor,  and Jason (Bobbi) Conant of Dorr, 24 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be missed by his buddies and constant companions of 4 years, Rosco and Rosie.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Memorial services will follow visitation at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
