Willie Whitfield Sr.

Willie Whitfield, Sr., 67, of South Haven, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 at his home under Hospice care. He was born November 6, 1950 to Howard and Cora Mae (Blunt) Whitfield in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. Willie was a skillful mechanic who worked for National Motors and in his community as an automobile mechanic. He also worked at Overton’s and the South Haven Steel Center in addition to on an Exon Oil rig over the years. He enjoyed listening in and talking on his CB Radio where he was known as “Triple 9”. Wille also enjoyed BBQ, fishing, traveling, and bowling. He loved his dogs and his family.
 

He is preceded in death by his parents – Howard and Cora Mae Whitfield, three brothers – James, Tyrone, and Howard Whitfield.

Willie is survived by his wife – Jacqulen M. Whitfield of South Haven, children – Willie (Janice) Whitfield, Jr. of Jackson, Mississippi, Tiffiny Whitfield of Austell, Georgia, and Felicia Whitfield of Kalamazoo, Angel Norwood and Joya Cowell of Kansas City, siblings – Terry (Cathy) Whitfield of South Haven, Larry (Regina) Whitfield of South Haven, Sally Ann Whitfield of Battle Creek, Michigan, Lewis (Bertha) Whitfield of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, and Ben Whitfield of Pullman, Michigan, and grandchildren – Treveon Whitfield, JayVeon Willie Whitfield III, and Tanea Whitfield, and host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Solomon’s Temple in South Haven with Pastor Simon Harrington officiating.
