Robert Edward Martin

Robert Edward Martin, 80, of South Haven, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home under Hospice care. Robert was born January 13, 1938 to Raymond and Voleta (Higby) Martin in Belding, Michigan. Robert honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1958. He later worked for Woodland International in Grand Rapids for 32 years before his retirement in 2005. Robert and his wife Carole moved from Belding to South Haven in 2006 where they were members of the Bethel Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents – Raymond and Voleta Martin.

Robert is survived by his wife – Carole Martin of South Haven, son – James (Amy) Botsford of Newcomerstown, Ohio, grandchildren – Shelbie (Steven) Eckelberry of Coshocton, Ohio, Falon Botsford of Coshocton, Ohio, Taylor Botsford of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Jessica (Evan) Roberts of Niles, Michigan, and Melynda (Ed) Shane of Newcomerstown, Ohio, ten great-grandchildren, brothers – Chuck (Joyce) Martin of Clarkesville, Michigan and Harold Martin of Belding, Michigan, and sister – Shirley (Doug) Ruedinger of Taylors, South Carolina. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Services will be scheduled for the Spring of 2019. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to Caring Circle Hospice at Home, 05055 Blue Star Highway, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
