Oscar's Obituary

 

Oscar Bergstrom Jr.  88 of South Haven  passed away peacefully Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family under the care of hospice. 

Oscar was born October 29, 1930 in South Haven to Oscar E. and Mary (Brown) Bergstrom.  He spent his entire life in South Haven and graduated from South Haven High School in 1949.  He retired in 1981 from Bohn Aluminum after 32 years.

Oscar married the love of his life, Wanda Ketchum, on July 10, 1959 at the Allegan United Methodist Church.  They shared 59 years of happy married life together.

He attended the Glenn United Methodist Church.  Oscar had a love for life and was always kind to everyone he met.  He especially loved animals of any kind.  Oscar enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, square dancing and snowmobiling. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles and his wife Marion, sister-in-law Marie Bergstrom, brother-in-law Edward Kozlowski, and special friend Kim Lynch.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Wanda. Brother James, sisters Christine Kozlowski and Carol (Butch) Noykos.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Oscar will be lovingly missed by all.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 16, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Glenn United Methodist  Church. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the church with Rev. Harold Filbrandt officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Glenn United Methodist Church, 1395 Blue Star Highway, Glenn, MI 49416 or Al Van Humane Society, P.O.
