Jessie Bee Covington

Jessie Bee Covington, 53, of Covert, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Bronson Hospital in South Haven. He was born November 8, 1965 to Paris Covington Sr. and Hattie Louise Pointer in Jackson, Mississippi. Jessie was a handy man who worked in plumbing before becoming disabled. He loved to play poker and enjoyed entertaining others with his great sense of humor. Jessie was a devoted father who cherished his time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by four daughters – Jesshonna Covington, Jessica (Malcolm) Lewis, Shervonna Covington, and Jackie Covington, siblings – Mary Covington Mac, Paris, Jr., Elizabeth, Willie, Oscar, and Nancy Covington, grandchildren – Jayden and Javonte Covington, Jasharia Blue, Jordynn Covington, Malcolm “M.J.” Lewis, Jr., and Ja’veyah Griggs, special friend – Grace Lassin, and the mother of his children - Shurrone. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Wake will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services with Pastor Dre Love officiating will follow the wake beginning with a prayer from Pastor Dwayne Johnson at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Jessie will be laid to rest at Covert Cemetery.
