Warren's Obituary
Warren David Albers, age 76, of South Haven, Michigan passed away Friday, May 24, 2019, at his home surrounded by family. Dave was born July 28, 1942, in Lawrence, Michigan to Warren Frederick Albers and Marie Amalia (Cerny) Kampschroeder. Dave served his country in the US Air Force from 1959-1962 and was honorably discharged. He enjoyed his occupation as a truck driver and traveled the country for many years. Dave was proud that he had visited every state in America, except for two. And if you asked him which two, he would give you a look and tell you to think about it. After retiring from driving truck, Dave worked as a cook at Cousins Restaurant which allowed him to get paid for doing his favorite hobby. He married Lois Rach on October 12, 1996, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bangor. He loved to cook for friends and family and was excellent on the grill and the smoker. Most of all he valued spending time with his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Gidget Marie Albers; stepsons Mike and Brian Sullivan; grandchildren Miranda and Dakotah; siblings Grace (Ray) Williamson, Dorothy White, Norman Albers, Richard (Christina) Albers, Betty LaVerne Haynes and Phil Hoffman; and stepfather Alvin (Pop) Kampschroeder.
Dave is survived by his wife Lois Albers; daughter Mia (Robert Jr.) Svoboda of Shelbyville, Illinois; stepchildren Sheri (Todd) Capps of South Haven and Ronnie (Sheri) Sullivan of Wayne; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Doris (Jack) Sutherland, Judith Beckwith, Alice (Vernon) Avery of South Haven; Mary (Marvin) Hall of Doniphan, Missouri; John (Lynda) Albers of Carthage, Texas; sisters-in-law Irene Albers of Berrien Springs and Edna Hoffman of West Branch; brother-in-law Willie Haynes of Greeley, Colorado; and daughter-in-law Amy Sullivan of Allen Park. He was also dearly loved by many nieces and nephews. Dave never met a stranger or had an enemy and leaves behind a multitude of friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at First Baptist Church (1635 76th St., South Haven 49090). Funeral services will follow visitation at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Jerry Koller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to First Baptist Church.
