Sylvia Ann Hamrick

Sylvia Ann Hamrick, 79, of Hartford, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at her home under Hospice care with her children by her side. She was born April 24, 1940 to William and Mildred (Coates) Burrows in South Haven, Michigan. Sylvia held many jobs in her life working as a type setter, typist, medical transcriptionist, and a librarian. She loved playing the piano, dancing, singing, playing Bingo and trying her luck at the slots. She loved dining out with family and friends. She was a member of the Word of Life Fellowship in Watervliet, Michigan.

She Is preceded in death by her parents; siblings – Leon and Clifford Burrows and John Stevens.

Sylvia is survived by her children – Terrence (Robin) Burrows of Farmington, Michigan, Kimberly Hamrick of Hartford, Michigan and Lisa (Clint Poe) Therres of San Jose, California; grandchildren – Michael, Shawn, Joshua, and Brandon; great grandchildren – Sophia, Samuel, and Jacob; siblings – Frances Hesketh of Pahrump, Nevada, Naomi Smith of Carmel, Indiana, Bill Burrows of Mooreseville, Indiana, and Les Burrows of Lincoln, California.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Pat Purcell officiating. Sylvia will be laid to rest at Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.
