Sharon's Obituary
Sharon Jean Fanger, 81, of South Haven, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 at her home. She was born March 23, 1938 to James and Geneveive (Engelbertson) Scroggins in Detroit. Sharon graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors Degree studying music. She worked as a piano teacher. Sharon was a former member of South Haven’s City Counsel. She loved gardening and enjoyed tending to her flowers and plants. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and a member Bethel Baptist Church in South Haven.
She is preceded in death by her former spouse – Pastor Grant Fanger.
Sharon is survived by her daughters – Christine Walker of Searcy, Arkansas and DesAnne (John) Hippe of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grandchildren – Ashley, Shaun, and Sierra Walker and Hannah and Kaitlyn Hippe. Sharon was also a grandmother to over 70 foster children.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Bethel Baptist Church in South Haven. Memorial services will follow visitation at 1:00 PM at the church with Pastor Mark Congrove officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sharon’s memory to Bethel Baptist Church of South Haven, 6701 Blue Star Hwy, South Haven, Michigan 49090 or to Imagine & Believe Foundation, P.O. Box 2042, Searcy, AR 72145.
