Cora's Obituary

Cora L. Kelley was born to the parents of the late Ollie and Cora
Williams in Shelby, Tennessee. They moved to Huntsville, Alabama shortly afterwards. Not wanting to raise their children in the south, Cora’s parents moved the family to Chicago, Illinois where Cora
received her high school diploma from Dusable High School. Cora wanted to be a nurse but was unable to. Cora graduated from Tailor Business School and became a tailor and seamstress.

Cora loved to entertain and would always say don’t lie, cheat or steal. She would always be there to help when needed. Cora married the late French Thomas. From this union one child was born. She later
married the late Woodrow Kelley. They moved to Michigan and made it their home in 1967. They made lasting friendships with the O’Flynns and Springers along with countless others. Cora held various jobs finally retiring from the Everett Piano Company. Cora closed her eyes in peace on September 1, 2019.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter – Beverly;
grandchildren—Keith, Kelle, Cora, Keenan;  great grandchildren— Kamyia, Akira, Keith, Kamryn, and Aniya and a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.

Cora was preceded in death by a son-in-law – Anthony; grandchildren – Kevin, and Anthony; two brothers – Grant and Dorian; four sisters – Ollie, Roxie, Charity, and Arlena.

The family of Cora L. Kelley would like to thank Milton and Betty O’Flynn, Jeanette Mitchell, Linda Meeks, Richard White, and Kathy Hefright for the many acts of kindness the have shown Cora.
