Charlotte's Obituary

Charlotte Marion Sampson, 84, of Pullman, passed away October 6, 2019 peacefully in her home. She was born May 31, 1935 to Leo and Gladys (Crandell) Hatch in Vermont. After graduating high school, she worked in a manufacturing plant as a production worker. Charlotte married Rodger Sampson Sr. on January 20, 1955 and they shared 64 years of marriage before her passing.  She enjoyed playing computer games and listening to the song she wrote, entitled “Happy as a Bumblebee”. Charlotte loved to praise the Lord and would spend much of her time reading the Bible and praying. She was a very tender loving person and loved her family very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Wendell Sampson, and siblings – Grace, Lois, Irene, and Ralph.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Rodger Sampson Sr., Children – Randy (Tammy) Sampson and Marietta (Larry) Marsden of Fennville, Char Sampson of Pullman, Rodger Jr. (Vicky) Sampson of Buckner, Illinois, Roxanna (Jim) Chastain of Indiana, Ray Sampson of Gillete, Arkansas, and Carl (Dorie) Sampson of Norfolk, Nebraska, Sister – Helen (Mike) Mangini of Gainsvoort, New York, Fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Thursday, October 10, 2019 from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven, Michigan. Funeral Services will follow on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Mary Hoots and Pastor Tom Jeffrey officiating. Charlotte will be laid to rest at Fennville Cemetery in Fennville, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in Charlotte’s honor.
