Arlene Ann Laraway

Arlene Ann Laraway, 84, of Pullman, Michigan passed away October 31, 2019 peacefully in her home surrounded by family. She was born December 19, 1934 to Sigfried Mattson and Ida Mae Vanderbough in South Haven. Arlene married Royal “Babe” Laraway on November 26, 1954 and they shared 65 years of marriage before her passing. Arlene later became the owner and cook of Arlene’s Cuisine at Pizza Plus in Pullman. She was an exceptional cook, known for her spaghetti, potato salad, turkey dressing, and beef and noodles. Arlene also ran a daycare out of her home and was a former member of the Bloomingdale School Board. She was an avid reader.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son – Terry Laraway, and sisters – Ione May, Dorothy Mattson, and Marilyn Laraway.

Arlene is survived by her Husband – Royal “Babe” Laraway, Children – Sharon (Gary Gordon) Laraway-Gordon of Lake Ann, Debbie (Doug Bale) Laraway, Tom Laraway, and Tim (Jodie) Laraway all of Pullman, twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

A visitation will take place Monday, November 4, 2019 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at Casco United Methodist Church with Pastor Jodi Cartwright officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite literacy charity or to the Terry Laraway Memorial Fund at P.O. Box 4, Pullman, MI 49450. Arlene will be laid to rest at Lee Township Cemetery in Lee Township.
