Kenneth Johnson

Kenneth Johnson, 69, of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2020 at his home under Hospice care. He was born March 28, 1951 to Willie and Eva Mae (Falls) Johnson in Chicago, Illinois. Kenneth married Esther Bard on October 24, 1992. They shared 27 years in marriage out of 44 years together. Kenneth worked as a truck driver and was a certified master mechanic for many years. He worked at Allegan Ford and Simmons Ford in Schoolcraft before retiring in 2013. Kenneth earned a degree from Western Michigan University. He loved cars and deer and duck hunting.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Kenneth is survived by his wife – Esther Johnson of Fennville; children – Kennitha (Desmond) Johnson-Wells of McDonough, Georgia, Kenneth Dwight (Zunilda) Johnson of Bronx, New York, Towanna McFall of Champaign, Illinois, and Carrie Givhan of Harker Heights, Texas; siblings – Donald (Devona) Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, Tanya Echols of Muskegon, and Sarretta Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Private family services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 with Pastor Eric Jarvis officiating at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Services will be live streamed for the public via the funeral home website. Kenneth will be laid to rest at Pearl Cemetery in Clyde Township.
