Alice Faye Pacwa (née Young), age 71, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in St. Joseph, Michigan. Born on January 5, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Alice lived a life filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family and passions.

Alice was the beloved daughter of the late Madge and Johnie Young. She was also predeceased by her brothers Eddie, Donnie, and sister Joyce. Despite these losses, Alice remained a source of strength and positivity for those around her. She is survived by her cherished daughter Kristina Payton and son-in-law David Payton; her treasured grandchildren Joseph, Lucas, Elijah, and Isabella Payton; her loving boyfriend Jesse; and her dear sister Sherry Neuman. Her dog Winston was also a constant companion who brought her great joy.

Alice’s life was marked by an enduring faith in God that guided her through all of life’s challenges. For two decades, she bravely battled cancer with unwavering optimism and grace. Her faith provided comfort not only to herself but also to those who loved her deeply.

A woman of many talents and interests, Alice found joy in simple yet meaningful pursuits. She loved riding on the back of a Harley with Paul and Lee, feeling the wind in her hair as she embraced the freedom of the open road. She delighted in boating adventures and walking along the beach in search of sea glass treasures. Butterflies held a special place in her heart, symbolizing beauty and transformation.

Alice had a gift for creating warmth through her cooking and baking, filling kitchens with delicious aromas that brought people together. Her creativity extended to sewing and crafting, where she poured love into every project she undertook. She also had an eye for bargains and enjoyed spending weekends at yard sales hunting for hidden gems.

Above all else, Alice cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Whether crafting together, bargain hunting or cruising around in her Miata “yldthag”, these moments were among her most treasured memories.

Alice’s legacy is one of love, resilience, faith, and joy—a testament to a life well-lived. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.

A celebration of Alice’s life will be held at a later date to honor the remarkable woman she was.
