Andy's Obituary
Andrew Junior Bailey “Andy”, 70, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at his home in Decatur. He was born January 7, 1954 in Paw Paw, MI to Andrew and Josephine (Jamus) Bailey.
The family will receive guests from 10am until time of funeral service at 11:30am, Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur, Pastor Mike Heflin officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Decatur.
Andy was a hard-working man who retired from the Van Buren County Road Commission. Whether it was taking any extra shift offered with the road commission or tending to the family farm, where he took pride in building his own home. Andy enjoyed staying busy and had very little down time. Even though he was busy, there was nothing he would rather do than spend time with his family and friends. Andy loved to fix things - he had a small lawnmower repair shop before working for the County and could fix any small engine. Andy was always willing to lend a hand.
Andy will be missed by his wife of 47 years, Theresa (Chybik) Bailey, whom he married on May 23, 1977 in Decatur; his children, Becky (Michael) Slate, and Matthew Bailey; his grandchildren, Hayleigh Slate and Isaiah Bailey; his siblings, Ann Myers, Darline (James) Kirby, Loreine Beeching; along with many nieces and nephews, and many very good friends.
