Andy Pickens, 80, of Maryville, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, following an accident at his home.
He was born on August 11, 1945, in Mishawaka, Indiana to Andrew and Martha Pickens. He was raised in Cass County (Volinia), Michigan, where he attended Marcellus Schools before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Most of his career was spent in Denver, Colorado, where he resided until retiring in 2016 to Maryville, Tennessee.
Surviving are one brother: Phillip (Patti Northrop) Pickens of Paw Paw, MI; four sisters: Sharon Thompson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Linda Carlton of Dowagiac, Michigan, Connie Lyle of Conroe, Texas, and Diane (Richard) Groscost of Ramer, Tennessee; and sister-in-law: Ruth Pickens of Dowagiac, Michigan.
Preceding him in death were his parents: Andrew and Martha Pickens; brother, Frank Pickens; brothers-in-law: Carl Thompson and Kevin Lyle; along with close family friend, Owen Hyink.
Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2026.
Arrangements were entrusted to Clark Chapel – Starks Family Funeral Homes, Dowagiac.
