Anthony's Obituary

In Loving Memory of Anthony Scott Baiers (“Toan” / “Scott”) November 10, 1967 – August 14, 2025

Anthony Scott Baiers, affectionately known as “Toan” and “Scott,” passed away peacefully at his home in Stevensville, Michigan, on August 14, 2025, at the age of 57.

Born on November 10, 1967, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Anthony was the beloved son of Jimmie Baiers and the late Barbara Jennings, and stepson of Michael Jennings. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Molly Baiers, and brother, Shawn Baiers. Anthony shared a loving family with Angela Baiers, and was a devoted father to Cameron Baiers (Skylar Haluch) and Lucy Baiers. He took special joy in his role as “Papa” to his granddaughter, Scarlett Baiers — lovingly nicknamed his “SBG” (“Sweet Baby Girl”).

Anthony graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1986 and earned his degree in Material and Logistics Management from Michigan State University in 1991. He began a long and fulfilling career with Whirlpool Corporation, where he worked for 27 years in numerous leadership roles across supply chain management, including Supply Chain Manager, Project Manager, Capital Management Administrator, Deployment Manager, Regional Warehousing Manager, and Transportation Operations Manager. After Whirlpool, Anthony continued his career as a Supply Chain Manager at Bonnell Aluminum for 4 years, and most recently at Aludyne, where he worked for 3 years. He took pride in his work everywhere he went and valued the relationships he built along the way.

Anthony’s heart and humor were his true gifts. He was the kind of person who would go out of his way to help anyone in need, a great listener who gave the best advice, and someone who always brought laughter to those around him. He loved grilling out and cooking for others, often making meals that brought people together. He enjoyed sitting outside on warm evenings, watching sunsets, and talking for hours with family and friends. He was happiest surrounded by loved ones, playing with his grand-dogs, and treasuring time with his precious granddaughter.

Sports were another of Anthony’s passions. He loved cheering on his favorite teams — especially the Michigan State Spartans and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also deeply involved in his children’s sports, coaching and encouraging them through the years. What brought him the most pride was rooting for his son, always his biggest fan from the sidelines or the stands.

Music was also a big part of Anthony’s life. A devoted fan of the Grateful Dead, he attended countless concerts, with one of his favorite memories being a trip to see them at the Sphere in Las Vegas. He also loved traveling, family vacations, and simple road trips that turned into adventures thanks to his humor and love for life.

A celebration of Anthony’s life will be held at Weko Beach on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. In the meantime, we invite family and friends to share memories, photos, and words of comfort here so that Anthony’s love and legacy may live on in all of us.
