April Marie Mitchell, 40, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at her home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd. St. Joseph, MI, 49085. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 12:00 PM till time of service. April was born on June 6, 1982 in St. Joseph, MI to Perry and Annette (Ballard) Aldrich. She married the love of her life Walter William Mitchell III. They were blessed with two boys Walter and Calvin. When April was not taking care of her family, she loved to go to the beach and collect beach glass, shells and rocks. Her favorite time was walking on the beach at sunset with her family. April also enjoyed all kinds of music and loved to dance. She was always present in the moment, spontaneous, loved life and was crazy about her husband and sons.
April is survived by her husband, Walter William Mitchell III; her sons, Walter William Mitchell IV and Calvin Perry Mitchell; sister, Shannon Ballard (Demarkus Williams) and brother, Anthony Ballard; nephews, Demarkus Williams Jr, Kaziah Williams and Amari Williams. She also leaves behind a special grandmother, Barbara Jean Ballard; mother-in-law, Theresa Phelps; special uncle, Donald (Barbara) Aldrich and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Perry; her grandfather, Clarence Ballard; grandmother, Patricia Aldrich and Aunt Carrie Ballard.
