Barbara's Obituary
Barbara was born on November 4, 1943, to Rosa and Wiley Bragg in Huntsville, AL. She had four sisters, Peggy, Linda, Virginia and Rebecca.
Barbara was much more than a partner to her husband Jay Fisher. She was his best friend, his confidante, and the love of his life. To her son Terry, she was much more than a mother. She truly was a friend, someone who always had his back and inspired him to be a better man.
For five years, Barbara started fighting neuropathy. Then in November of 2024, she had a stroke, followed by seizures which she fought as hard as she could but couldn't overcome.
Let us focus on the love they shared and the incredible woman she was.
Barbara and Jay met over 65 years ago and from the moment he saw her, he knew she was someone extraordinary. She had this radiant smile and laugh that could light up the darkest room. She was kind, intelligent, and had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued. She made Jay feel like the luckiest man in the world, and every day was a gift.
Their love was built on laughter, trust, and an unshakeable bond. Barbara was his rock, the person he turned to in every moment of struggle. She had this incredible ability to calm his fears and remind him of what truly mattered in life. She believed in him even when he didn't believe in himself, and pushed him to be a better person every single day.
Barbara was also his greatest adventure, whether they were traveling to new places, trying new recipes in the kitchen, or simply sitting on the couch talking and watching television. Every moment with her felt special to him. Even during her illness, Barbara never lost her spirit or her love for life. She fought not just for herself, but for their family, for their dreams, and for the life they had built together.
She showed him what true strength looked like and he will carry her courage with him forever. Barbara was his love, his everything. She was his heart, his home, and his greatest joy. He will forever miss her smile, her laugh, and the way she made him better just by being there. He knows she will always be with him - in the memories they had made, in the love they shared for 64 years.
Jay is thankful for her loving him, for her believing in him, and for being his partner in this life. He will carry her in his heart always. He loves her today, tomorrow, and forever. She was his soulmate, and may she rest in peace forever. Amen, Amen.
