Barbara's Obituary

Barbara J. Arndt, 82, of Stevensville, passed away, surrounded by her loving family & friends, Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Monday, June 10, 2024 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, with Pastor Brenda Glupker officiating. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Barbara’s name may be made to Berrien County Cancer Service. Barbara was born December 22, 1941 in Berrien Springs to Orvile & Mabel Mundy. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School, Class of 1960. Barb was employed as a sales manager for many years at Robert Hall in Benton Harbor & The Hennes Co. in St. Joseph, a buyer for Ollie’s Annex in St. Joseph, and more recently as a merchandiser at numerous area retail stores, before retiring in 1999. On September 29, 1995, she married Roger Arndt in St. Joseph. Barb was a member of the former Riverview Park Christian Church in St. Joseph, and a member of FOP Lodge #96. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and the yard, just being outdoors, camping, the beaches of Lake Michigan and the time spent with family, especially the grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her husband Roger; her children-Jeffery (Lelia) Callender of Quebec, Canada, Pamela (Mark) Weir, Gary (Jean) Callender, Julie Kushman all of St. Joseph, Heather (John) McMahan of Burlington, NC, Sarah (Jenry) Azcona of Clarksville, TN; ten grandchildren-Lee (Margaret) Callender, Ashley (Nick) Weir-DuCharme, Adam Weir, Kyle Callender & Jessica Callender, Brady & Drew Kushman, Gavin, Fiona & Blake McMahan; seven great-grandchildren; her sister Sheri (Michael) Boozer of St. Joseph; sister-in-law Jan Mundy of Berrien Springs; several nieces & nephews; and special friends Harry & Rose Shuck of St. Joseph. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill Mundy and her sister Pat Mundy.
