Busby's Obituary

Busby Doss aka (Fisbe), 93, was the first Son born male February 7, 1932 in Buena Vista Mississippi to the union of Beech Doss and Eugene (Cunningham)(Doss) Willis.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 29 at 12:00 pm at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph MI. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at North Shore Memory Gardens.

Moving from Mississippi to Arkansas. Busby came up in a time and ending of slavery era where many of the colors and their family's work in cotton fields on plantations. That were owned by previous slave masters.
Busby shared the story that one of his younger brothers who shall remain nameless had poured water in the property owners tractor for it to never work again. He was in danger and the family had to hide him.

And they brought him and others up north, including his only child. Upon the Family's relocation to Benton Harbor Michigan. Busby excepted Christ early on in life and found a church family at HOPEWELL missionary Baptists Church.

Upon relocation Busby land a better paying job in the servicing department at NET GATES CHEVROLET for 40 sum odd years with the same company until the company sold the business and it was renamed Levalley Chevrolet. Busby could put a detail on a car so smooth they wanted him to stay. And he did. Where he worked 10-15 more years until his health began to decline. Now in all those years Busby had forge a relationship with many of his customers many that owned farms that his family and others throughout the community worked as fruit and veggie pickers.

Busby attained evening work out on the farms up keeping the yards of Doctors and lawyers who's vehicles he took great pleasure in cleaning. Busby best pass time and hobby was fishing and boy he could bring in a good catch. Busby also had a talent for making beautiful quilts. Some of well spent time with his favorite girl, his Mother. Also professional at canning fruits and vegetables.

You see though he may not have had a high school diploma he did all he had ever known. Which was to work and take care of his Mom and siblings. Busby married late in life. He met a beautiful women from Flint Michigan. Catherine (Allen)Doss. There were no children born into this union.

Busby in survived by his one and only daughter that came up from early south and raised until her graduation. Betty Jean (Doss)Mitchell of Memphis Tennessee. one granddaughter Erica Shanta Mitchell of Dallas Texas.

Two sisters Maudine(Doss)(Allen)Edwards and Nisha (Doss)Straham both of Flint Michigan and a Host of Nieces and Nephews

Busby: Preceeded by Beech Doss, Bessie (Doss) Henyard, James Doss, Clem Doss, Mother Eugene Willis, Brother's Ollie and Bobby Willis from the union of stepfather Ollie & Eugene Willis.
